How do you get the basics right in payroll? 60 seconds video

At LACE we’re often asked what it means to ‘get the basics right’ when it comes to Payroll Departments and best practice. To us there are a number of different elements to consider here; whether it’s from truly understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your payroll team operating model, understanding the different tools and processes you have in place, as well as how to manage the ever changing business landscape, be it through new technologies like robotic process automation (RPA) or elements like earned wage access (EWA). The ‘basics’ mean different thing to different businesses, but there are some fundamentals you can put in place.

Chris Howard quizzes Chris Kirby and Simon Puryer on some of these ‘basics’, ahead of a webinar LACE ran in May 2024 called Payroll: The mystery behind the magic button. You can watch an on-demand version of that webinar here.
